To the loyal customers of Kimmel Scrap.
Working and driving around large trucks can be a dangerous business. These big rigs can weigh upwards of 70,000 pounds empty and when loaded 150,000 pounds. That is a lot of weight. Now try stopping something that heavy. Our professional drivers can and do but often are put in some incredible positions. I’ve witnessed these instances on our truck mounted cameras. It is frightening to me that day after day people put themselves in such danger. Please remember that darting in front of a semi at the last minute because your lane is ending is not a position you want to put yourself or the passengers in your car in. We encountered this exact scenario just the other day. The driver of the car was uninjured as it was a minor fender bender, but that driver was found at fault. That driver got lucky that day.
We need to share the road with these big fellas. Please respect them by giving them the space they need to operate, break and stop, your life and those in your car depend on it.
Be safe.
Ken
