To the Loyal Customers of Kimmel Scrap,
Sometimes we have responsibilities in our professional lives that go beyond the normal work day. At Kimmel we feel it is our responsibility to contribute to our community. Myself for example, I have been the President of BUOY for the Detroit Police Department’s 2nd Precinct for four years. BUOY, Businesses Uniting Officers and Youth sponsors events that will bring the children and police of the 2nd precinct together in educational, cultural and recreational activities. It is a great organization and it is fun to watch the police and kids interact with each other and see the smiles on everybody’s faces.
A recent event that Kimmel sponsored was the 2nd Precinct’s softball team in an annual police tournament. The 2nd Precinct finish third but it wasn’t about where they finished but about showing support for them, allowing them to take a day off and enjoy themselves.
