Dog days of summer. I guess that could apply to many things.
The usual is our Michigan summers. Wow, some of these hot and humid days can really take it out of us and our teams. Make sure they stay hydrated and safe in the heat. Don’t be complacent, those days can extend into September.

And the traffic, construction and orange barrels! I swear the orange barrel is the new Michigan state tree. Just remember, everyone else out there is dealing with the same headache, especially the truck drivers. Let’s give them a break and the space they need to operate safely. Afterall, nothing gets done without our truck drivers. They are the unsung heroes who play a large part in helping our economy, making sure food is on our tables and in our case making sure raw materials like recycled metals get to the mills.

Lastly, the steel market. Just like the weather and road construction it has been consistent with little change in the market and prices. This season of metal pricing too shall pass and just like summer will turn to autumn and the orange barrels will….oh never mind those things really never go away in Michigan but the metal prices will change. Metal markets are cyclical and there are better times ahead, I assure you. Before you know it, we will see sn….ok I’m not ready to use that word yet so I use a different S word, safe. Be safe.

Enjoy the remainder of your summer.
