Summer has arrived! The winters in Michigan always seem especially long and summer can never come soon enough. However, with the direction of the steel market we may wish summer never arrived this year. As I write this, we wait for the June steel market emerge or maybe that is submerge. The industry is expecting the market to recede not only in June but July and August are not looking much better with analyst and forecasters expecting metals prices to continue to retreat possibly into the fourth quarter. We have been to the highest peaks and lowest valleys but it is what we do during these lowest valleys to ensure we come out on the other side unscathed. We rely on our experiences and our experiences tell us we need to pay attention to the details and optimize everything we do, be efficient. Two of the most important ways you our customer can help us is by first, ensuring boxes and dumpsters are loaded to capacity and not exceeding the height of the box. Secondly, if your production temporarily tails off and you are on a schedule, please contact dispatch to modify your pickup schedule until production returns to normal.
