Greetings to our Valued Customers,

All of us at Kimmel Scrap Iron & Metal hope you had wonderful summer and were able to spend valuable time with family.

Here at Kimmel we like to think safety first. So much so that we begin each meeting with a safety topic. We believe the safety we practice at work carries over into our lives outside of work. With children returning to school we feel it is worth asking that we slow down, pay a little more attention and show more patience as we allow the next generation to safely get to and from school.

With the return to school it brings cooler temperature. Unfortunately this month the cooler temperatures have brought a cooling to the steel markets as well. September brought with it a decrease from $20-$30 a ton across all grades. There are a number of factors that have played into the downward steel market that sounds like a broken record. The mills are buying less this year and far less than 2014. Exporting of scrap metal is down. The import of steel is up slightly despite the increase of duties on specific countries. Lastly, steel production is also down compared to last year.

We here at Kimmel would like to thank you for your loyalty and it is a great pleasure to service you, our customers. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, comments or service requests.
